Practice

CLG’s litigation practice encompasses a vast genre of cases – from Constitutional matters to commercial, civil and criminal cases. We were the Standing Counsels for the State of Assam in the Supreme Court of India from 2001-2016. CLG had represented the State in key areas like Constitutional law, Civil, Criminal, Labour, Service, Direct and Indirect Tax and Boundary disputes, matters which critically impacts substantial questions of law, of national significance. 

We represent companies, including PSUs, before the Supreme Court, various High Courts, subordinate courts and other forums. We are among a small number of law firms in India, which are registered with the Supreme Court of India as Advocates on Record.


Litigation Services

  • Representing and arguing on behalf of the Clients before the Supreme Court, High Courts, Subordinate Courts and Quasi-Judicial Fora like National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), State and District Consumer Commissions/ Forums, Debt Recovery Tribunals, Board for Industrial and Financial Reconstruction (BIFR), Company Law Board, Competition Commission of India (CCI), Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), Telecom Disputes Settlement & Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), National and State Human Rights Commission and Intellectual Property Rights Appellate Board (IPAB)
  • Drafting, vetting and settling all kinds of legal documents
  • Providing Legal Opinions
  • Pre-litigation strategy including due diligence, mediation and negotiation, Specific Disputes avoidance and resolution schemes, Legal Notices, Cease and Desist letters and so on
  • Appropriate court proceedings under Procedural Code for the enforcement and execution of foreign judgments.


Arbitration

CLG has extensive experience in handling high-stakes arbitration matters for clients such as L&T, OIL India Ltd., GAIL (India) Ltd., etc. CLG’s arbitration practice offers our expertise in the following professional services: –

  • Strategizing and drafting Alternative Disputes Resolution Clauses for commercial transactions
  • Drafting & vetting required pleadings and position documents for Arbitration
  • Representing Clients in both domestic and International Commercial Arbitrations Fora)
  • Execution and enforcement of Arbitral Awards throughout India.
